Is this Down on the Street Day? Here are some interesting cars I spotted recently here in So. Cal. including that rad Sunbeam Rapier above. Those were called the Alpine GT on this side of the pond and I can’t imagine they sold many U.S. spec ones.
Alfa Milano and Peugeot 504 Coupe
The stripes on this Cherokee are epic.
Some rhd Toyota crew cab kei truck that belongs to Occidental College.
A Delica just hanging out.
I love this old very base model Nova sedan. Someone took great care of this cheapie.
The first Stag I’d seen on the road in a long time.
Unknown if this was carrying Grey Poupon.
Monza! Another forgotten car. This one looked amazing.

The Sunbeam is a crazy spot, I can’t imagine more than a few that are period export models rather than grey market are still roadworthy on this side of the pond.
The Nova really reminds me of a nearly identical car a friend had in high school. With that plate and its sequence, I guess it is a 70. Those could even be optioned with a 4cyl - I can’t imagine.
The Corona is exactly the kind of thing I would expect to see in southern CA.

That Sunbeam was a jaw-dropper. And just a few blocks from where I live. I love that the Nova proudly displays its “250" badge. Yeah, this is one place there are still plenty of those Coronas running around. A California favorite.

These are all amazing spots. This is the sort of obscure stuff I was expecting to be tripping over during my trip, but the most oddball stuff I found was a clean Pulsar and a V8 Rover SD1.

GIB the Corona!
GIB the Alfa 75/Milano
GIB the Sunbeam!
Toyota Dyna is bigger than Kei car category

Ah, a Dyna. I’ve heard of that one. It was a little big for a kei.

Nice! I hadn’t noticed that awesome moving Challenger in front of the Sunbeam!

Yeah, that blurry Dodge makes a cool foreground. I still can’t believe I saw that Sunbeam. I was with the Eisens and they had no idea why I was freaking out.

That Rover’s a good one. There used to be one that lived not far from me. L.A. is so big, the cars are spread out, but they’re out there.

Lenny had to keep his cool: never let your guard down little buddy!

Good tip. It was probably one of his agents running some kind of distraction mission. I wonder what Lenny was up to behind my back.

Well, it’s either Iran or North Korea he’s after, right?

And Albania. God damn Albanians. One day they’ll be sorry they ever crossed Lenny.

No Armenians?

He’s ok with the Armenians. They’re a lot like Jews. Swarthy. They survived genocide. A lot of things to connect with.

That’s not for the Albanians?

Apparently not enough. His standards for atrocities and body hair are high.
